Stop Watch Description
Every activity relies on time, and it’s important to have a solid idea of how long it takes for you to complete specific tasks. There are various devices which can accurately count for you, but there are also computer programs. For instance, Stop Watch is a lightweight tool with which to monitor your activities.
Can be used on the go
On the bright side of things, Stop Watch doesn’t need to be installed in order to function, so you can see what it’s all about from the moment download is done. As such, you can carry it on a thumb drive as your personal timer tool, with the possibility to use it on other computers besides your own, without worrying that the target PC gets affected.
On launch, a custom-made window shows up, with a large LED-like display, and several buttons to have control over the whole operation. There’s the possibility to start, stop, lap times, and quit the program. It always sits on the desktop. You can only minimize it to taskbar. It would have been useful to be able to make it stay on top of other windows to always have the timer in sight.
Good, but far from being a pro
Hitting the “start†button makes the timer count with values for seconds, minutes, and hour. Hitting “stop†completely ceases the activity and lets you start from scratch. In case you just want to pause, you can use the “lap†function, and continue when necessary. Sadly, there’s no log of events to have all laps recorded.
Since there are no options to store and save info, the application isn’t quite practical on the long run. There are no configurable hotkey commands for functions, but you can assign a hotkey to the program’s shortcut to launch it from any location.
To sum it up
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Stop Watch is a straightforward tool you can use to monitor quick activities. Unfortunately, there’s no option with which to have laps recorded, or use hotkey commands to manage playback.
