StopWatch is a simple-to-use application that gives you the possibility to control a stopwatch and schedule an alarm clock. It contains intuitive options that can be easily tackled, even by those inexperienced with such software.
Before proceeding any further, you should know that StopWatch hasn't received updates for a pretty long time and doesn't work with 64-bit Windows.

Set a stopwatch and countdown timer

The fact that it's outdated can be noticed from the fullscreen window with the solid background color of the installer. Otherwise, there are no special options, third-party components or mandatory software products bundled with the setup kit.
When it comes to the interface, the program adopts a small window with a simple design and layout, giving you an overview of all settings available. It also shows the current time, which is synchronized to the system clock.

Easily customize preferences

You can set the number of hours, minutes and seconds for the stopwatch, as well as start counting time with one click. The counter can be stopped or reset with one click.
By clicking on the alarm icon, you can switch to alarm clock mode and set the time to count down from, in order to play an audio alert when it's done. Plus, you can make the window stay on top of other running processes and minimize it to the taskbar.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, since the tool didn't hang, crash or indicate errors. As we expected, it had minimal impact on the computer's performance, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM.
Too bad that StopWatch hasn't been updated for such a long time that it doesn't work on newer Windows versions anymore. Users who are running 64-bit Windows have to resort to other utilities dedicated to counting time, whether we're talking about a stopwatch or alarm clock. Otherwise, you can give this app a shot, especially since it's free for non-commercial use.
