My Giant Timer Description
If you're not a morning person, chances are you're having a hard time getting out of bed or hearing the alarm, which might lead to missing appointments, being late for work or simply waking up to realize there's nothing to do. In order to prevent such situations, application like My Giant Timer want to help you out and make sure you get up no matter what.
Multiple ways to set the timer
Note that the way the application is built somehow forces you to use it if you don't need the computer, because it covers your whole screen with the only option to minimize it being through hotkeys, with the default one being the Windows key + D button combination.
Surprisingly enough, there are several methods you can use to reach the sound that wakes you up. Depending on the period you plan on resting, the application lets you set up a timer with either six, four or two digits, with a mode to switch to a count up timer.
Only a few customization options
When you've made a decision and it's time to hit the hay, your screen is covered by a black background on which literally sits a giant timer. It doesn't automatically start, since no configurations are made. Attached you find a small window that differs a little depending on the method picked, with mostly the same options to manage.
Needless to say that you need to write down the time to be tracked. Besides this, you can set the timer to flash starting from a specific point and adjust volume of the sound that's played when the timer reaches zero. All you need to know is cleverly displayed in the small window, even with a few examples.
Everything works well, with the default sound combined with many decibels being enough to assure you the bed won't keep you any longer in the morning. Forcefully minimizing the application leaves the counter flawlessly functioning. Sadly, you can't change the background color and the audio file needs to be replaced in the root folder for more diversity.
On an ending note
All things considered, we can safely state that My Giant Timer is a trustworthy solution you can try out if you're having trouble getting out of bed. Although it can feel a little rough until you get the hang of it, proper functionality and the ways you can make the timer reach zero come in handy and make sure you're up and running right on time.
