System Control Description
System Control is a tiny widget that displays power management buttons for the computer directly on your desktop, thus providing you with shortcuts to immediately turn off or lock your system, for instance.
The app's interface is based on a small frame which you can move to any position on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor. By opening the context menu, you can access the "Settings" screen, in order to make some adjustments to the widget.
For example, you can enable or disable system control buttons when it comes to Shutdown, Restart, Lock, Switch User, Sleep/Hibernate and Log Off. But you can also make room for Task Manager, Run, Log Off and Command Prompt.
Some customization preferences regarding System Control's appearance are available when it comes to the gadget size, lock button, theme and bottom text. The latter option allows you to display time (default, no seconds, military), today's date, overall CPU or RAM usage.
The small app does put put a strain on the computer's resources, as it uses a very low amount of CPU and system memory. It is very responsive to commands and worked smoothly in our evaluation, without causing Windows to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, System Control supplies users with an easier method to control the computer, and can be seamlessly handled, thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity.
