TickCount Description

TickCount is a command-line application that displays your system uptime. It doesn't come packed with any commands, so it can be used even by those who aren't familiarized with the console interface.

View system uptime in days, hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds

A system uptime viewer gives you the possibility to find out for how long your computer has been running.
By learning this information, you can figure out if it was turned on by another person or restarted by a program, for example. However, it doesn't show additional information about these events.

Doesn't require installation

The tool doesn't have to be installed, since it's packed in a single executable file that can be saved anywhere on the drive as well as copied to a USB flash disk to seamlessly launch TickCount without setup. There are no software requirements involved.
If double-clicking the .exe doesn't perform any action, make sure to launch Command Prompt or another preferred console application and call TickCount's process. You just have to go to its directory and specify the file name and extension.
After hitting Enter, the utility instantly calculates and displays the system up time in weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds. Therefore, it's thorough.

Lacks richer features

Unfortunately, this is where the application's functionality ends. It doesn't say the exact date and time of the most recent startup, which would've been quite useful to spare you the trouble of calculating it by yourself.
Furthermore, it cannot record multiple PC launches to history, in order to give you an idea of the latest startups. Nevertheless, TickCount had minimal impact on the overall performance of the machine in our tests, as we expected.

Simple and straightforward PC uptime viewer

It's handy for helping you find out your system uptime and determine whether someone else has been using your computer without your approval, or if it was restarted by Windows or a particular program that has this permission.
