TMP Description
Enjoying a few songs at the end of the day can be just the right treatment after a long day’s work. This doesn’t necessarily have to involve complex applications or methods, especially if audio files are found under one format and in a single folder. As such, TMP comes with simplicity in mind, being a suitable little audio player.
Can only play MP3 files
A cool thing about it is the lack of an installer, allowing you to take advantage of its set of features from the moment download is done. This also makes it possible to use it as your personal audio player directly from a thumb drive, without putting the target computer’s health status at risk, because registry entries are not modified.
Truth be told, file support is rather poor, and you can only load those under the MP3 format. Adding them isn’t done through a drag and drop operation, but rather through single selection of files via the browse dialog, or loading the content of an entire folder through the update function.
Poor playlists support and playback controls
All files you add are enlisted in a table according to name and extension. Sadly, you can’t have the list filtered, or even parameters like shuffle or repeat enabled for a better variety during playback. You can, however, quickly jump to a specific item by relying on the search field, which also shows suggestions as you type.
In terms of playback controls, the application isn’t fitted with any particular functions to make it stand out from the crowd. These only consist of basic playback and navigation controls, as well as sliders for volume and progress. Unfortunately, there’s no possibility to have your playlist saved to file, but it is remembered the next time you run the program.
In conclusion
Bottom line is that even though audio players don’t really need to be equipped with a whole abundance of functions, TMP delivers just the bare minimum for MP3 playback. There’s little to no control over multiple playlists, while controls can only be handled through the interface buttons.
