TunesKit Subtitle Extractor Description

Whether you wish to put together a movie collection or to look for a particular line of text within subtitles, you can turn to TunesKit Subtitle Extractor, an easy-to-use software application designed to extract embedded subtitles from movie files. It has an intuitive set of options that can be handled by all types of users, even the ones without previous experience with subtitle extraction tools.

Extract subtitles from video files

There are no software dependencies involved so you can quickly install the program to reach the main app window. As far as appearance goes, the interface adopts simplicity.
Movies can be added to the task list by dragging and dropping them from Windows Explorer or another preferred file manager. Alternatively, you can use the built-in file browser. The supported formats are MP4, MOV, M4V and 3GP, so files of any other type will be ignored by the program.

Save CC subtitles to as SRT files

Batch processing is possible, which means that you can populate the task list with multiple video files in order to extract subtitles from all of them at the same time. The matter comes down to indicating a saving directory for the subtitles, which are saved to SRT format. According to the developer, CC (closed caption) subs are supported.
When it comes to program settings, you can ask the tool to automatically update to the newest version or minimize to the systray on close (instead of exit). You can also specify the default saving directory for SRT files.
Unfortunately, the application had trouble identifying a lot of movies in our tests. It failed to import the video files but didn't specify the type of error to help us figure out a workaround. There is plenty of room for improvement.
