Universal Subtitle Viewer

While many programs are capable of reading video files, not all support subtitles. Universal Subtitle Viewer is a small tool that was designed to help you watch movies complete with subtitles.
While the program’s interface doesn’t win any beauty pageant, it hosts the necessary features to help you through.
The app supports several file formats, namely AVI, MPG or DIVX. These can only be opened by browsing the folders, since the drag-and-drop function isn’t implemented.
There are several playback buttons on the interface, including “Play”, “Pause” and “Stop”, as well as one that takes you back one minute and one that increases the video speed. A slider is also available to help you skip through the video.
Some customization is available for the subtitles as well. For instance, you may choose a font name, style, size and color, as well as any effects, such as strikeout and underline. The movie and associated subtitles can be resynchronized if needed by accessing a simple feature.
The bottom line is that while Universal Subtitle Viewer is a nice program, it isn’t the strongest item available in its category. Inexperienced users shouldn’t have anything to worry about while working with this program, thanks to the intuitive interface and its overall simplicity.
