Video Capture to MPEG Description
Video Capture to MPEG is an approachable piece of software that you can use to record video streaming from webcams or other devices, and save it to the computer with the MPEG format (MPEG1 or MPEG2). It comes packed with a handy set of options.
Quick setup and clear-cut GUI
The installation operation is quick and does not require special attention. Regarding the interface, Video Capture to MPEG keep it plain and simple.
Modify settings to your preferences
It lets you select the video capturing device, format and input type, audio, device, input type, offset and sync mode, as well as customize settings when it comes to the font style, name and size, and date/time color.
In addition, you can use an overlay text and personalize properties (e.g. rotation, color inversion, text, hash brush, outline border and background color), as well as apply an image as overlay and set the transparency and position in the video (i.e. watermark). Apart from indicating the output directory and file name, you can preview the captured stream within the main frame.
Evaluation and conclusion
The app is pretty light when it comes to CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the computer. However, it crashed a couple of times during our evaluation out of the blue while we were tinkering with the settings. Other than that, Video Capture to MPEG should please all types of users, thanks to its standard and advanced settings alike.
