Virtual Disk Utility Description
Virtual Disk Utility is a simple-to-use application designed to help users create, mount and unmount virtual disks (KVD format).
Its interface is based on a wizard-like structure, where you have to follow a few simple steps to complete one of the previously mentioned tasks in no time.
Setting up the program takes little time and minimum effort. You can create a new virtual disk by pointing out a location, file name and volume label. Enabling encryption mode allows you to password-protect the disk.
Once a drive letter is specified, you can mount the new virtual disk immediately. The output directory is automatically opened on task completion. Disconnecting it is possible by selecting the disk from a drop-down menu and clicking a button. Changes are immediately applied to the system.
It is possible to create as many virtual disks as you want. Unfortunately, you cannot specify a custom size, as it is automatically applied, depending on the size of your hard disk.
Virtual Disk Utility uses low CPU and RAM, has a good response time and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation.
Although it is not particularly resourceful, Virtual Disk Utility offers a simple solution to creating, mounting and unmounting virtual disks in KVD format. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, it can be handled by all types of users, even the ones with little or no previous experience in such applications.
