WakeUp Description

If you're a network administrator, you might be interested in software applications that permit you to remotely wake up other computers in the local network. This way, you don't have to physically go to them.

Wake up PCs using Wake-On-LAN

This can be easily done by sending Wake-On-LAN signals, a feature that most machines posses but must be turned on from BIOS, since it's deactivated by default for security seasons.
There are many programs out there which give you this possibility, and one of them is WakeUp. It's a command-line tool that enables you to remotely wake up a machine using its MAC address.

Set the computer's MAC address

It's quite easy to use, since there are no command-line arguments. The usage is Series.exe MACAddress [/? | /h], where the /? and /h switches are in charge of reminding you of this usage.
However, you must obtain the MAC address of the PC you're trying to remotely control, and this can be done by turning to MAC address finders. In fact, the developer has another command-line utility designed for this purpose, called MACAdr.
Once you get your hands on this identifier (in (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx form), you can type it right next to the app name, then hit Enter to send the WOL command. Keep in mind that this only works if WOL is enabled on the remote PC.

Doesn't require setup

Installing this software application isn't required because it's portable. This means that you can drop the downloaded .exe file anywhere on your hard drive or on a removable storage unit to fire up WakeUp on any machine without setup. It doesn't create extra files on the HDD without your permission, nor does it integrate new entries into the system registry.
WakeUp had minimal impact on computer performance in our tests and worked errorless on Windows 10. It delivers a simple and straightforward solution for helping you wake up other computers in LAN by sending WOL commands.
