Wallpaper Change Scheduler Description
Wallpaper Change Scheduler is a simple application you can use to ask the computer to regularly cycle through multiple desktop wallpapers, depending on the event, such as mouse idle, Windows logon, or weekly. It features practical options that are intuitive enough to be figured out by all types of users.
Setup, prerequisites, and interface
There is no installation involved. However, the tool asks for permission to create a shortcut and integrate it into the Start menu in order to run. Other than that, it doesn't create other files on the disk or modify Windows registry settings. .NET Framework must be installed, though, since it was developed with the aid of this platform.
As far as the interface is concerned, it opts for a standard .NET Framework form that doesn't put emphasis on appearance but it's easy to navigate.
Create events to change the desktop wallpaper
It's possible to add as many events as you want with different settings. You can specify the trigger type between weekly, daily, on mouse idle or movement, or at system loon.
Furthermore, you can pick the wallpaper style between stretch, tile, center, fit or fill, as well as select the background image from a local file with the PNG, BMP, JPEG or GIF format. Before saving changes, you can add a name to the event to easily identify it in the list.
Wallpaper Change Scheduler enables you to pause all scheduled events, edit their properties, and uninstall the previously created program shortcut. It gets sent to the system tray on close to become non-intrusive and let you carry on with your normal desktop PC activity without interruptions and while keeping track of time left until the next event.
Evaluation and conclusion
It worked smoothly in our tests, without freezing, crashing or prompting errors. CPU and RAM usage was minimal. Its interface needs some improvements in the graphical department, though. Otherwise, Wallpaper Change Scheduler has approachable options for users looking to schedule desktop wallpaper switches.
