WaveGenerator Description
WaveGenerator is a lightweight and portable software utility capable of generating a sinusoidal signal that can be sent to the soundcard. It has options for specifying the frequency and volume level before producing the sine wave.
Set the frequency and volume level to generate sine waves
The application is wrapped in a plain interface made from a small window showing two boxes for entering the frequency (in Hertz) and volume (in percentage). The panel cannot be resized, but it can be minimized to the taskbar to make WaveGenerator non-intrusive while dealing with other running programs.
The beeping sound representing the wave signal can be generated with the click of a button. Apart from the fact that you can stop it as well as check out the current status, there are no other options worth noting about this program.
Doesn't require setup
The complete tool's packed in a single executable that can be saved anyplace on the HDD or moved to a USB flash drive to launch it on any computer with as little effort as possible.
Plus, it doesn't need DLLs or other files to work normally, add new entries to the system registry, or generate files on the disk without asking for your permission. You can simply delete this .exe if you're interested in performing an uninstall.
Evaluation and conclusion
The software product had minimal impact on the performance of the machine in our testing, consuming little CPU and RAM. We haven't come across any compatibility problems with Windows, and the tool remained stable throughout its runtime. No errors were shown and it didn't freeze or crash.
To sum it up, WaveGenerator may not have rich options and configuration settings, but it offers a straightforward solution for producing sine waves. It can be controlled with ease by all types of users.
