WordReference

WordReference is a small and non-obtrusive widget which lets people checkup foreign words and their translations therefore, enabling them to learn new languages.
The interface is quite intuitive, meaning that both novice and power users can find their way around it with ease. Aside from that, it can be switched between two sizes, so as to make it unobtrusive when needed.
This software application enables you to access a large number of dictionaries, most of them translating words from English to other languages, such as Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Korean and Arabic.
Upon choosing the dictionary that interests you and inputting a word in the appropriate field, the widget redirects you to a specific web page, where you can check out the translations available.
The gadget also integrates a small search tool, which enables you to look up all sorts of keywords on the Internet. This also opens up a web browser page.
Right-clicking on the widget, brings up a context menu, which closely resembles most Windows Gadgets. To be more exact, you can add other gadgets to the desktop, move the frame or resize it, and close the utility. In addition to that, you can tweak the opacity (from 20% to 100%), and force the program to always stay on top of all the other opened applications.
To sum up, WordReference is a useful piece of software, especially for English speakers who are interested in learning other languages. It has a very good time response, while CPU and memory usage is minimal.
