WP Clipper (formerly WP Clipart Viewer)

Formerly known as WP Clipart Viewer, WP Clipper is a simple application initially designed to display PNG images included in the WP (Word Processor) Clipart collection. However, you can use it to open and edit any personal images. It offers support not only for PNG photos, but also for JPG, GIF, TIF and BMP file types.

Open and view pictures

This free tool gets quickly installed. Its interface comprises a plain-looking window with a neatly structured layout. Although it doesn't put too much emphasis on the UI's graphical elements, the utility's easy to navigate.
You can use the built-in file browser to locate photos, select a file to view its thumbnail, mirror or flip it, tilt it to the left or right, as well as rotate it by 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Make image adjustments and apply filters

Several photo filters can be applied, such as color inversion, emboss, contour, edge detection or enhancement, detailed view, sharpen, smoothen, blur, or greyscale. Furthermore, you can adjust the brightness, contrast, sharpness, and color levels.
The actual resolution of the selected image is revealed in the status bar. In order to apply modifications, it's necessary to save the file with the PNG or JPG extension, and you can specify the output directory and file names. This means that it's not possible to save all types of files with their original extension. The bright side is that you can use this method to convert the images to a different format.

Evaluation and conclusion

It contains comprehensive options for viewing and editing image files. However, it doesn't implement settings for viewing the images with their actual size or in full screen mode, and it doesn't make too much room for customization.
