Uploading files to YouTube is sometimes a pain in the neck if you’re not used to the cluttered interface of the uploading screen, but Youtube File Manager comes to the rescue.
This Windows freebie was developed with a single goal in mind: help users to upload video files to their YouTube account straight from their desktop.
The plain and simple GUI requires you to input your YouTube username and password, but also to select one or multiple videos to be uploaded.
The clips are uploaded one at a time, so your Internet connection isn’t dramatically slowed down during the uploading process. Each added file is displayed alongside a great amount of information, such as title, description, file size, status and keywords.
A log panel at the bottom of the main window lets you keep an eye on the uploading task progress, showing information regarding both the YouTube authentication and the uploading job.
Youtube File Manager proves to be a very reliable tool in most cases, but it sometimes fails to connect to YouTube although the Internet connection works perfectly.
On the good side, it runs okay on all Windows iterations on the market and doesn’t require any special computer skill to serve its purpose.
Overall, Youtube File Manager is indeed a helpful product, but it clearly needs further updates to work flawlessly on all Windows platforms on the market. A wizard could also come in handy to rookies uploading videos to YouTube for the first time.
