ZipNow Description
ZipNow is a software solution built specifically for zipping and unzipping files.
The developer tried to comprise all the necessary options for dealing with the compression or decompression process in the easiest way possible. Although looks are not impressive, this program sports a straightforward layout.
The “drag and drop†support is not included in the app, so you have to add the files by using the browse function. Some users may find it a bit uncomfortable the fact that you have to add each file individually into the main window for a future compression process.
The zipping process allows you to compress files by using the fifteen steps provided by the app. It is possible to enter a zip file name, to include files modified on or after a specified date, to select the compression mode (best, normal, fast, none), encrypt your documents by setting up passwords; enter a script file name and a short description for the zip operation.
Moreover, the app provides several options for storing paths for each file and including contents of sub-directories, hidden system files, directory entries or volume label.
You can make the app email ZIP files to multiple people by adding the email addresses of the receivers, sender’s name and email address, subject and text message. Similar settings are included in the program for the unzipping process too.
What’s more, you can create new log files and save them as plain text each time a script is run and specify a default zip file name, output folder, error file location, email host names or email port number.
At the end of the compression or decompression, users are provided with a log including all details, such as date and time, possible errors messages and the location where the new files are stored.
In conclusion, ZipNow is a handy application for all those who want to store the files in the popular ZIP format or to decompress them on the go.
