555 Timer Description

555 Timer is an application that can help electronic engineers and students in designing 555 timer integrated circuits. Depending on a custom voltage, it can calculate capacitor and resistor values with the utmost ease.
A program like 555 Timer can spear you the effort of performing tedious and complex calculations by hand, therefore saving the time you’d typically invest in such an operation. It can deal with both astable and monostable circuits and provides visual electronic representations for each of these.
Following a short and complication-free installation process, you can get acquainted with the user interface, which is split into three main tabs. In the first one, you are required to enter the circuit voltage and to specify if your timer is a CMOS model, as calculations for this particular IC type are slightly different.
The next two tabs are dedicated to the astable and monostable schemes, with each of them providing a visual architecture of the circuit. If you opt for monostable, you are asked to specify the ON Time value of the circuit, while for the astable model, the frequency and duty cycle (in percentage) are needed.
Based on user-defined parameters, the application will compute the resistor and capacitor values and display them inside the boxes afferent to specific electronic components inside the scheme. Also, the application allows you to view the output signal of the timer for the input conditions.
All in all, 555 Timer comes across as a helpful application that can ease the work of engineers a whole lot. The only downside is that you cannot save the results.
