Agilitext Text Editor

Developed in Java, Agilitext Text Editor is a small-sized application that gives you the possibility to create, edit and save plain text documents.
It comes packed with standard features similar to Windows Notepad, and it caters to users looking for a straightforward word processor with a stylish appearance and no complicated options.

Needs Java Runtime Environment to work

Provided that you have Java Runtime Environment on your PC, you don't have to set up anything else. Therefore, you can double-click the downloaded executable to immediately launch Agilitext Text Editor, as well as keep it stored on a thumb drive to seamlessly run it on any PC with Java. Unlike most installers, it doesn't add new entries to the system registry.
As far as the interface goes, Agilitext Text Editor has a dark background and intuitive structure. The window is initially small at startup but can be resized and maximized.

Create, edit and save plain text documents

You can start typing text like in any other word processor, then save the results by specifying the output directory and file name. Make sure to indicate the .txt format too or the new file will not be associated with any extension.
In addition, you can open existing plain text documents to make edits and save changes, cut, copy, paste, delete and select all data, and undo your actions.

View word and character count, find and replace text

It's also possible to get statistics with your word and character count (with and without spaces), find and replace key words or expressions with something else, count all occurrences of a specified keyword, insert the current date and time, as well as customize font settings (type and size).
Words are wrapped to fit the window and this option cannot be changed, unlike in Windows Notepad.

Simplistic and useful text editing app

All in all, Agilitext Text Editor doesn't have much but it offers simple and practical options for helping you focus on text. Too bad that .txt files cannot be associated with this app to be able to open documents easily.
