AnyNotes Description
AnyNotes is most useful in your Internet research. In Internet Explorer, you can:
save a web page full content: address, title, text, pictures. The saved page is added to AnyNotes as a new note with attached pictures. To do this, just click the button that AnyNotes implants into Internet Explorer toolbar.
save any selected part of the web-page. Select and click the same button.
save only the text. Select, press Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+V.
save only the title and URL of the web-page. Drag-and-drop the address field.
drag-and drop pictures to a note.
Attaching files:
You can attach files to a note by drag-and-dropping or copying-and-pasting them from Windows Explorer. Attachments can be edited, deleted and sorted.
Attached pictures can be viewed and scaled in the picture viewer.
You can search for an attachment in the Advanced Search window.
Editing note:
You can type a text of the note or paste the text copied in other applications. AnyNotes supports full Rich Text formatting for fonts and paragraphs in the note text.
You can paste links to any files on your hard disk. Double-click the link to open the file in external application or start up the program.
The integrated calculator helps you to quickly paste a calculated value or a current date into the note.
The "Ctrl+=" shortcut calculates the value of an arithmetical expression right in the text. It also sums up a column of numbers.
You can print a note after previewing it.
A note can be provided with the attributes:
Anchor attribute to prevent important notes from accidental modifying or deleting
Security attribute to cipher individual notes. AnyNotes uses the BlowFish strong algorithm with 128-bit key for encrypting
Red, Yellow and Green flags which you treat as you wish
Event attribute to remind about notes and show them in the calendar
Icon to visually distinguish notes in the list (as well as the title typeface and color ). AnyNotes has about 100 icons to choose from. User icons can also be assigned. Icons can be shown in a small or large size.
Sorting notes:
Notes can be sorted by icon, title, attributes, or dates
You can arrange notes manually by drag-and-dropping them in the List.
Navigating tools include:
the Favourites pane where you can store links to the notes or folders you often work with,
the History pane where you can find up to 100 links to notes and folders you have recently visited,
Go Back, Go Forward buttons to revisit recently used folders and notes,
internal links that allow you to jump from one note to another.
Searching:
Using the Global Search, you can find notes containing the specific words, having some attributes or creation/modification dates. You can search in all opened databases, in the current datebase or in the current folder.
In the Advanced Search window, you can find attached files or specify more detailed search conditions.
Using the Find In Note button, you can find up to 5 specific words in the current note.
Events and Reminders:
Any note can be turned into an event. Events can be one-time or periodical (yearly, monthly, weekly).
You can turn on the reminder for an event. The reminding starts from one minute to 30 days before the event and ends when you finish the event.
In the Calendar, you can see events for the selected date.
AnyNotes can import data from other applications, such as:
bookmarks from Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox.
notes, contacts and events from Microsoft Outlook,
formatted text data from CSV files.
Multi-user capabilities:
AnyNotes database can be opened and edited by up to five users at a time.
One user can open up to five databases at a time.
To protect data in situations when a database is opened by more than one user, the first user gains the Owner status, others get the Guest status.
A database can be be used in the Read-only mode.
If a computer is used by more than one person, a separate AnyNotes account can be created for each of them.
Portable using:
If you have a Pocket PC or a communicator with Windows Mobile, Install Pocket AnyNotes which comes with the desktop AnyNotes on your pocket device, then synchronize the desktop and Pocket AnyNotes databases.
Desktop AnyNotes can also be used as a portable program. Write it to a flash-drive or another portable storage device together with the account and databases, and you will be able to work with it at any desktop computer
