Asus Tweaking Utility is an application with a rather suggestive name, designed with a single purpose: to help you tune your ASUS display card so as to increase system stability and enhance its performance.
Developed by Asus itself, this small application is one of the safest ways to tweak an ASUS video card, unlike other overclocking utilities that have to be used with care, since they can result in making yout hardware devices completely non-functional.
The application only works with ASUS video cards, so it shouldnt be used with other types of graphic cards. It supports various models from the following series: V3800, V6600, V6800, V7100, V7700, V8200, V8170, V8440, V8460, V8420 and V9180.
Asus Tweaking Utility automatically detects the video card model your computer is equipped with and enables you to adjust the graphics and the memory speed to custom values.
It supports a maximum of 142 MHz for the engine speed and 195 MHz for the used memory. With the click of a button, you can load the default values, if you consider that the custom ones dont result in an improvement.
With its help, you can also perform a test to assess the performance of your graphics card. Since it is only compatible with older display card models, it can only run 2D tests.
The changes you make to the default settings are not applied on the spot. The new configuration is automatically loaded at the next Windows startup.
