Atomic Age Clock Description

There are numerous widgets available to enhance a desktop or system that users can use, including various clock and time related widgets. Atomic Age Clock is a widget that users can implement to present a movable 1950's Atomic Clock on their desktop, that includes various additional options and extras.

A simple clock that is easy to implement, yet presents a specific style that might not appeal to all users

How useful Atomic Age Clock actually is will divide some users, since the desktop already includes a clock it is more of an artistic choice that might appeal to users more than the system tray clock. The clock itself is a reasonable recreation of a 1950's Atomic Clock, although it is slightly low resolution.
Atomic Age Clock displays the time in the analog format, but it does include the date, if not the month, making it a bit more robust than a standard analog clock. However, the hands are quite small and there are no numbers around the edge, making it a bit difficult to read compared to other clocks.

Limited customizable options, yet an audible feature that provides the widget with more versatility

There are not many options available to customize how Atomic Age Clock actually operates, the main option is to change the color. There are five different colors available that users can select from, as well as the option to disable the date from the main window.
The most interesting option included is the ability to make Atomic Age Clock chime. Users can select if it chimes every quarter, half or full hour, which would make the widget provide audio prompts regularly about the time. There are no options to adjust the volume of the chime effect sadly, which would have been an interesting addition.

An interesting application that provides an unusual clock, yet comes down more to taste than function

Ultimately, Atomic Age Clock is of limited potential, not all users will see the point of having multiple clocks on their desktop. The chime effect that the widget includes does provide the clock with some additional versatility, making it possible to alert users when they are away from their workstation. In the end though, Atomic Age Clock is just a clock and it is up to users to decide if they feel it is necessary.
