BinEditor Description

A computer doesn’t understand text or data as we do. It associates each character with codes, that can vary according to some standards, and complexity of stored information. Not everyone can make use of such code, and special applications like BinEditor are required for editing. Packed with intuitive editing methods, it can be used on any kind of files for binary management.

Intuitive design quickly gets you up and running

Once the application is installed, and it doesn’t take long, you’re free to check out the set of features. On the visual side of things, you get to work in a pretty intuitive environment. With the main window clean and simple, accommodation becomes a walk in the park. An upper toolbar provides quick access to general functions, with the possibility to minimize sections you don’t need.
The rest of the space is what captures all of your attention. Once a file is loaded, corresponding binary data is shown in a structured general panel. Address is shown for each HEX field, followed by a separator that delimits HEX from text. In addition, a tabbed panel is used to show common value types, such as binary, integer, float, double, and more, in different bit versions, as well as a tab with changes you make.

Easy editing and data tracking

Loading files needs to be done through the corresponding dialog. Since the application is specially made to read binary data, you can load almost any kind of files. You’re free to edit a decent amount of values, such as HEX code, text, as well as common value types. Selecting a particular character or string highlights it across editing fields, so you can easily view correspondences.
Regardless of whether you change something in the HEX, address, or text panel, you can see all modification in the edits tab. All entries are stored in a list along with details like address, original form, as well as the new value. These can easily be discarded at the press of a button. One word of advice, be sure to create a backup of the original file before making any changes, because pressing Save overwrites the original without confirmation prompt.

On an ending note

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that BinEditor is a lightweight, but powerful tool programmers need to have around for binary data management. The overall intuitive visual design gets you up and running in a jiffy, while editing is quick, with changes applied in real-time. Just remember to create frequent backups.
