Clip Tracking

Although you never actually get to see it, the Windows clipboard is a little, but incredibly powerful feature. Luckily, developers thought of ways to extend its functionality, and even add new features to it. For instance, Clip Tracking comes as an interface for the Windows clipboard, even allowing you to save content to file.

Quietly sits in the tray area

On launch, the application minimizes to the tray area, and is the place where it stays most of the time. You can interact with the icon to bring up the interface and see what’s inside. In fact, the application’s core function is to show you content, with additional options to print, and save.
It’s a good idea to pay a visit to the documentation file in order to take a look over the hotkey commands you can use to your advantage for all application operations. Unfortunately, these can’t be changed, and the application’s main window needs to be up when using them, otherwise they have no effect.

Notifications, and export options

Every time something is sent to the clipboard, a small notification shows up next to the tray area so you know the copy operation is successful. However, the application can only monitor text, and doesn’t display the notification for any other copied element. The same goes for the preview area, which only shows text.
Unfortunately, the application only provides a visual interface, with no additional slots to copy multiple items and use them later on. In case you do want to save copied content, there’s the possibility to instantly generate a TXT file. On the other hand, there’s the print function which can create other file formats if used with a virtual printer.

Taking everything into account, Clip Tracking can come in handy for tasks which involve thorough text handling. Although there’s no possibility to have multiple entries saved and quickly used, content is editable from the interface, and export options let you print, or generate a TXT file.
