Color Vision Description

You can learn just about anything school can and can’t teach you with just a computer and the right software components. There’s a large variety of interactive simulations to use in this regard, and Color Vision comes with an interesting approach on color combinations and how these are perceived by the human brain.

Can be used on the go

Note that the application is built to function on Java Runtime Environment so you need to make sure that it is installed on the computer you plan to use it on. On the other hand, the program itself doesn’t need to be installed to run, so you can just as well deploy it on a thumb drive to use on the go.
The application throws you directly into the simulation right on launch. There are two modes of operations which are accessed from individual tabs, namely RGB and single bulb. While the first is only fitted with simulation controls, such as stopping and running the simulation one step at a time, the second section lets you specify the bulb type and beam view.

A couple of different simulations

As far as the RGB bulbs section is concerned, it exemplifies how the three main colors, namely red, green, and blue are combined to form everything else. Each comes with its own slider to adjust intensity, which in return displays a color updating in real time as the new beams reach the destination. Sadly, corresponding RGB values are not displayed.
The single bulb mode only focuses a beam of light to a source. The simulation here can be done by adjusting either the color of the lens filter, or for the lens and bulb. Additionally, the lens can be turned off to focus the beam alone.

To end with

All things considered, we can state that Color Vision is a handy application which can exemplify how colors are derived from three basic ones by adjusting intensity of each. You can use it from a flash drive without installation, while simulation controls are easy to comprehend by individuals of all levels of experience.
