Desktop iPhone

Desktop iPhone is a user-friendly application based on Adobe AIR, that functions as an iPhone simulator, providing you with a series of features and functions similar to the real device. The tool can be used with your computer mouse, but also your keyboard, working just fine with both.
The program allows you to send and receive phone calls, but in all fairness, it does require that you have a Ribbit account prior to trying to call anyone. The same thing can be said about the 'Email' function, as you can send messages, but only if you have previously connected to your Ribbit account.
The 'Weather' function works to the extent that it displays the current conditions in San Francisco, California, but it does not permit you the change the location to another city or country.
The 'Web' feature enables you to browse the Internet, but without a service connection, you can only display the current 'New York Times' online newspaper. There, it even allows you to watch the videos posted on this website.
The 'Phone' component offers only the 'Contacts', 'VoiceMail' and 'Keyboard' functions, with the 'Favorites' and 'Recent' features being disabled.
All other applications and features that are specific to the real Apple device appear as 'Not yet enabled', so the functionality of Desktop iPhone is in fact quite restricted. Not only does it not allow App Store access, it does not even let you use the 'Calendar', 'Notes' or 'Maps' tools.
Although it manages to simulate quite well the real iPhone interface and has a quick reaction speed, Desktop iPhone' limited functionality makes it of little to no use, especially if you are not a Ribbit client.
