eml2mbx

eml2mbx has been designed as a simple conversion tool that can prepare email files to be imported into Outlook Express. As the name of the tool suggests, the input file type has to be EML and all the output data is in MBX format.

No installation, no interface

The user does not have to go through an installation process in order to work with the utility. Also, there is absolutely no interface available and there are no settings to tinker with.
Simply run the executable and a new screen pops up, containing a list with the options and the parameters supported by the application. There aren’t many settings but they offer the necessary control over the entire conversion process.

Operation control options

As such, there is the possibility to continue with the operation in case an error occurs and, in order to make sure that the program is working, it can be instructed to display an icon in the taskbar.
If the operation proves to be a short one due to the small number of files that have to be converted the presence of the application can go totally unnoticed.
Another option is to append the newly converted files to the folder if the same information already exists. Not providing this parameter leads to overwriting the previous versions of the files in the target location.
eml2mbx includes the possibility to collect email recursively, from all the sub-folders, instead of packing the data in each directory in a separate MBX file. Moreover, there is the possibility to bundle all the emails from all sub-locations into a single MBX file.

Working with eml2mbx is not a job for the average user but carefully following the instructions provided by the developer should lead to the desired result. The duration of the operation depends on the amount of data that needs to be processed.
