Folder Protect

Folder Protect represents a security solution for your files, folders, drives, masks and programs. It is highly advised to use this type of tool when sharing your computer with multiple users, since it helps protecting the privacy of your information.
Upon program initialization, you are required to set a password that will be used every time you want to access Folder Protect.
The app is wrapped in a professional-looking interface where you can import items into the file list by using either the file browser or 'drag and drop' functionality. Protecting multiple entries at the same time is possible.
The file queue displays the location, type and permissions for each item. When it comes to editing permissions, Folder Protect allows you to prevent users from accessing, deleting, viewing and writing data.
Several configuration settings for the program are available as well. For instance, you can enable stealth mode and set up a key combination for toggling it, disable the master password, activate automatic protection after a user-defined time interval, as well as alter the master key.
The program has a good response time, instantly applies security changes to the selected items, and includes user documentation. We have not experienced problems during our evaluation, since Folder Protect worked smoothly without popping up error dialogs. The bottom line is that Folder Protect comes to the aid of any user who wants to protect sensitive data.
