Global Word Count Description
Global Word Count is a straightforward and useful program whose main purpose is to help users track the total number of words they type on the keyboard.
While working across multiple documents, projects, papers and applications, you can keep yourself motivated and track your productivity using this simple and easy-to-use utility.
The previously mentioned application is able to identify non-duplicate separator characters such as ‘Space’, ‘Enter’ or ‘Backspace’. This way, you can keep track of how many words you type between e-mails, documents, code projects and even instant messaging.
After launching the utility, Global Word Count starts counting all the typed words and never misses a single one. You are able to preview a small window with two simple buttons namely ‘Reset’ and ‘Close’. As you type on your keyboard, the displayed number in the main window will increase with the number of words you type.
However, you can easily reset the counter to zero anytime you want. The usage of the application is quite simple to understand. In fact, Global Word Count works by sensing specific characters that divide words, including spaces, hyphens and slashes. If typed words are deleted and retyped again, they will be counted multiple times. Still, repeated separators will not be interpreted as separate words.
What’s quite important to remember is that the program is not a keylogger and it was not designed to store the typed words.
Considering all of the above, Global Word Count proves to be a reliable and effective solution when it comes to counting all the typed words and resetting the counter each time you want.
