Writing on a computer can be part of several different activities, such as plain office paperwork, or even writing novels and other pieces of fiction. Depending on the case, you might need a distraction-free environment to be able to focus on the task at hand, and this is exactly where QuiEdit comes in handy.

Covers your entire screen

It takes little time to get the application up and running on your computer. It covers your entire screen when launched, taking you directly to the edit process. Nothing on the desktop is visible, not even the taskbar, but you can use the Alt + Tab command to switch between windows.
As for file support, it can assist you in regular text edit operations since you can work on TXT files, but it's also a handy editor for HTM, HTML, as well as Markdown and MD files. Since the main window covers the entire screen, drag and drop is not possible, but the browse dialog isn't difficult to use either.

Visual design and edit options

The workspace consists of a centered text pad where all input goes, and an opaque veil which prevents interaction with background elements. Unfortunately, the text area can't be resized, which can get a little frustrating. However, there are a few themes to choose from in case the color scheme doesn't quite suit your style.
There are no buttons to press, which reduces mouse interaction to a bare minimum. However, this doesn't mean the application is devoid of functions, but these are accessed through hotkeys. There's a help section which can easily be accessed and shows all functions and corresponding hotkey commands.
As such, you easily find out how to modify text in terms of style, but not the font itself, copy, cut, paste, save, export as HTML or Markdown, and several more.

All in all, QuiEdit is a practical environment in which you can write text without having to worry that the Internet or other desktop distractions steal focus. Even though the writing area is pretty small and can't be resized, it's packed with decent file support, at least for HTML processing, and edit tools make sure the basics are all covered.
