It's not wrapped in a setup kit, so you can extract the files from the downloaded archive, copy them anywhere on your computer, and double-click the .exe to fire up the utility.

Needs .NET Framework to run

You can also keep G.V.D. - Data Encrypt & Decrypt stored on a USB flash drive to effortlessly launch it on any PC. On the other hand, it's not exactly portable because it depends on .NET Framework to work properly, so make sure that your PC is equipped with this software framework.
There's nothing much to be said about the interface. The text encryption tool has a single window with two boxes for entering data and viewing the output.

Seamlessly encode and decode text

All you have to do is type or paste the text you want to encode, then click "Encrypt Data" to proceed with the task. The encrypted contents are displayed on the bottom box.
If you want to decode data, make sure you paste it in the lower box, then click "Decrypt Data". The original content will be shown in the upper box.

Cannot open files to encode contents

Unfortunately, this is where the program's functionality ends. It doesn't give you the possibility to point out a text document to encrypt its contents instead of going through the trouble of opening the file using an external application in order to copy the text and paste it here.

Supports very large text

Also, the security algorithms used for encryption is unclear. On the bright side, we've noticed that G.V.D. - Data Encrypt & Decrypt works with very large text, although it takes a considerable amount of time to perform the encryption, during which the app seems frozen.
