Hide In Picture Description
Hide In Picture is a small Windows application specialized in hiding sensitive files inside images and password-protecting the information.
Simple looks
You are welcomed by a minimalist window that allows you to drag and drop photos directly in the main window. The tool works only with BMP file format.
Encryption settings
Hide In Picture gives you the possibility to preview the picture directly in the main window. Zooming options are available for analyzing the image. In addition, you are allowed to hide a user-defined file within the selected photo.
The file can be password-protected for making sure other users cannot access your private information. Plus, you are allowed to encrypt data with the aid of two algorithms, namely Blowfish or Rijndael.
The image that contains the sensitive information can be exported to BMP file format to a user-defined location on your computer.
Other important configuration settings worth being mentioned enable you to delete the output photo (provided that you know the right password), adjust the RGB levels, retrieve the concealed file from an image, as well as get details about each photo, like file path, dimension, bits per pixel, transparent color, and maximum capacity.
The utility is not a resource hog. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not affected. On the downside, it has not been updated for a while so you may bump into compatibility issues on newer operating systems like Windows 8. We have tested it on Windows 8.1 Pro and come across some bugs. The output file could not be exported on the disk.
Final words
All things considered, if you are looking for a simple software solution for concealing files into BMP photos, you can give Hide In Picture a try and see what it can do for you.
