HTML-Code-Cut Description

Fixing issues in source files is not an easy task, especially when you don’t have the right tools to identify lines of code which cause problems. When you do happen to identify it, you can use applications like HTML-Code-Cut in order to replace large portions of code with new, or updated content to fix all issues.

Advantages of a portable app

One thing you notice right from the start is the lack of an installer, which makes it possible to take advantage of the application’s set of features right away. This way, it can be carried on a thumb drive to have this tool ready regardless of the computer you’re working on, without worrying that the health status gets affected, because registry entries remain intact.
All features are stored in a pretty compact, yet highly intuitive interface. Effort on your behalf mostly consists of specifying range of code lines to target, as well as the text to replace with, and the file of interest. Luckily, HTML and HTM files can be simply dragged over the main window, with batch processing supported as well.

Create a backup before editing

However, you might end up scratching your head for a while at first. On the one hand, there’s no preview of the files you load, so you need to rely on a dedicated editor to count the lines you want to replace, just to be sure you don’t mess up things more than they already are.
On the other hand, original files are replaced on the spot, so it’s best to create a backup before processing, especially because there’s no undo option. The application doesn’t come with any built-in code visualization tools, or snippets to help you define the new text string to insert.

To end with

All in all, HTML-Code-Cut manages to get the job properly done in the end, but in a pretty straightforward, blunt manner. Original files are replaced without warning, and it can be a little confusing at first since there’s no preview area of the parts which is to be replaced.
