IconIP Description

IconIP is a networking utility that enables you to remotely monitor and control computers via LAN. It runs in the systray and fetches your IP and MAC addresses. The application includes some practical options for experienced PC users.

Setup and systray integration

Installing this software app takes minimal time and effort. Worth noting is that you can ask the tool to install the source code, which can be analyzed by programmers or those interested in coding.
Moreover, although this isn't mentioned, the app gets integrated into the Windows autostart sequence, so it runs by default every time you turn on the machine.
IconIP gets automatically launched afterward, creating an icon in the systray area for quickly accessing its options. This way, it's non-intrusive and lets you carry on with your regular PC activity without any interruptions.

View network-related information

Double-clicking the tray icon brings up a small panel to the screen, showing the IP address, host name, port number, gateway, DNS addresses, and user name.
Plus, you can find out all IP and MAC addresses, display the first, second or third octet in the tray icon, pick the MAC delimiter, disable tray numbers, as well as edit the system Hosts file.

Evaluation and conclusion

It worked smoothly in our tests, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or indicate errors. It didn't hamper the computer's performance, since it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly.
On the other hand, IconIP hasn't been updated for a long time and some of its settings are no longer functional, such as obtaining the remote IP address (the website it attempts to visit is no longer online). Nevertheless, it offers a simple and straightforward solution for finding out all your IP and MAC addresses.
