ImgTool Classic Description

ImgTool Classic is an easy to use application developed to create virtual CD images using DVD root folders stored on your local disks.
In order to remain as user-friendly as possible, the program uses a very intuitive interface, with just a few configuration options displayed right in the main window.
Users are thus prompted to choose the source directory that holds the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, the output file and the volume ID, with two different options at your disposal: shutdown Windows after recording and verify written DVD.
The output file can be saved either as ISO or as IMG file, but ImgTool Classic provides absolutely no configuration for these two formats.
On the good side, the program remained stable and proved very fast during our test, with a moderate amount of hardware resources needed to complete the tasks. On the other hand however, it lacks important configuration options and a help manual to assist users throughout the whole process.
Still, ImgTool Classic works flawlessly on all Windows versions and doesn’t hamper system performance at all.
All things considered, ImgTool Classic is clearly a handy product that does its job very well and with a few improvements it could easily become a more attractive piece of software.
It can be safely used by beginners and those more experienced, although there’s no help file included in the package. Chances are however that you don’t need one, mostly thanks to the straightforward approach of the application.
