JP's Password Safe Description
With so many social networks to navigate through, it's hard to keep up with all the authentication credentials used for each profile and email accounts. Storing them in documents and sticky notes, may not not be safe as we think, as they can be accessed by unwanted people or hacked by unknown individuals. As a solution to these problems, many utilities were developed to help protect and save such details.
Insert your records quick and easy using a user-friendly layout
JP's Password Safe is a minimalistic and intuitive program designed to offer an easy way to add your websites credentials, while they are protected, using a unique password and an encryption system. The setup is swift and uneventful.
It's wrapped in an accessible and plain interface which consists of a single panel divided into a quick bar, a file list, and a few fields. When you run the app for the first time, a default key ("none") is set, which can later be changed to the desired one from the menu.
Handy features that should've been part of the program
In order to enter a new record, you have the click the "New" button, and input the URL, username and password. It's recommended, but not mandatory, to run the program in administrator mode, to avoid eventual issues. The entry is displayed in the list on the left side of the window.
A nice addition, but quite pointless, is the ability to select a custom color for the background from several predefined tints. It would've been good if the tool came with a password generator, an encryption mode selector, a few predefined themes, and a font manager. Plus, an individual database and import and export functions, could've been great.
On an ending note
The bottom line is that JP's Password Safe is a simplistic and modest application that comes in handy only for those who need a small and uncomplicated utility, to add and store different login information. Its basic features leave much to be desired and don't really motivate the user to explore them.
