The setup procedure is fast and doesn't include unfamiliar options or third-party offers. However, you must have .NET Framework installed, since it was developed with the aid of this platform.
Once launched, it creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area and gets minimized there. This way, it provides quick access to the password-protected database while enabling you to carry on with your regular computer activity without interruptions.

Simple interface with master password

The main application window has a plain appearance and simple layout, where you can get started by setting the master password to protect Password Keeper from other users you share your workstation with. It needs to be confirmed and can be later changed.
New entries can be added to the database by specifying the application or website name, along with the username and password. Modifications are saved with one click and the passwords are revealed in the main window, so make sure that no one is looking over your shoulder even after entering the master password.
It's possible to edit or delete entries if you change your mind, as well as to ask the utility to automatically run at every Windows startup until told otherwise. There are no other notable options.

Evaluation and conclusion

Password Keeper comes equipped with basic options for storing usernames and passwords, without leaving room for advanced configuration. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated for a long and time displayed some error dialogs in our tests when attempting to create new entries. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself, since it's free.
