Password Book

Password Book is a small password manager whose purpose is to help you store sensitive information like bank accounts, credit cards, mailboxes, and software licenses into a password-protected database. The tool uses the 128-bit AES algorithm for encrypting your account information.

The GUI impresses with its straightforward design that allows you to insert items in the database using a set of intuitive settings. There’s support for an online help manual that provides succinct descriptions about the utility’s capabilities.

Preset categories

Password Book comes packed with several predefined categories that you can use for adding sensitive information, namely Bank Account, Bank Card, Personal Info, Mailbox, Network, Software/Product, and Others. The last category can be used for adding personal records to the database.
Each of the aforementioned categories comes with its own set of parameters. For example, you can add a new bank account by providing information about the name, account, owner, password, card, account type, IBAN, bank name, website, and note.
Network data can be saved by typing in details about the name, website, username, password, mailbox, IP address, FTP server, and note.
What’s more, you are allowed to edit or delete records, protect your information with a master password so other users cannot gain access to it, as well as synchronize the account information with the mobile (only the Nokia S60 series mobile is supported).

To sum things up, Password Book accommodates a basic suite of features for helping you store passwords and usernames, and is suitable especially for less experienced users. On the downside, you are not allowed to create user-defined categories so you are stuck with the preset ones, import data from CSV and other file formats, and automatically fill in web forms.
