JukeItUp Description
Playing audio files offline might not be such a practiced operation nowadays, especially because of the Internet which provides quick access to nearly all kinds of entertainment methods. In case you do prefer to enjoy your favorite artists offline, then you might want to use dedicated players such as JukeItUp.
Add audio files, and save playlists
The application doesn’t take a lot of time to install, and you can choose to run it as soon as setup is done. With the main window up, you can either take the time to get acquainted with the set of features, and the rather ambiguous design, or drop over some audio files to see what the application is capable of.
A built-in file navigator is there to help you navigate to the location of the files you want to play. There’s also a playlist editor which files you drop over the main window end up. The playlist can be saved for later use, with the possibility to play content at random. Additionally, you can add a URL to a dedicated field for radio streaming.
Good, but far from being a pro
Playback controls are intuitive enough, with basic options to play, pause, stop, or jump through content. Although sound can be adjusted through a dedicated slider, there’s no progress slider to easily jump to specific sections of a song.
For slight enhancements, you might be happy to know that JukeItUp also comes with its own equalizer. Sadly there are no presets to configure, but if you ever used one, frequency sliders are not difficult to handle. Unfortunately, hotkeys are not supported, and the application can’t minimize to the tray area during playback.
A few last words
All in all, JukeItUp aims to replace your default preference when it comes to offline playback of audio files. However, the visual design wants to impress through its elements, and only manages to create a bit more confusion, rather than help with quick accommodation.
