MP3 Splitter Description
MP3 Splitter is a simple-to-use application that enables you to cut MP3 audio tracks into smaller parts, as the name suggests.
It comes loaded with a few intuitive options that can be easily configured. Apart from MP3, the utility offers support for WAV, AAC, WMA, FLAC, M4A and AC3 filetypes.
Pay attention during setup
The installation procedure doesn't take long. However, because it's ad-supported, it offers to download and install third-party products unrelated to its core functionality. If you don't rush through the wizard steps and pay a bit of attention, you can cancel these offers to make a clean setup. Plus, you must have .NET Framework installed.
Simple GUI for splitting audio files
When it comes to the interface, the tool adopts a large window that shows all options available. After opening an audio track, you can load it in a built-in audio player, adjust the audio level, and seek a specific position by moving the slider.
It can be cut by marking the start and end position. This smaller portion can be played to make sure you're obtaining the desired results, as well as extracted by indicating the output directory and filename.
Moreover, you can choose the preferred level of quality by selecting a preset profile (same, very high, high, medium, low, very low) or by opting for a custom bit rate (32, 64, 128, 256, 512 or 1014kbps). Lastly, it's possible to create and save music playlists.
Evaluation and conclusion
We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that that software utility didn't hang, crash or show errors. It left a minimal footprint on system resources, running on low CPU and RAM, so it didn't hamper the computer's performance. All in all, MP3 Splitter gets the job done and you can test it for yourself.
