MyTimer Description
You’re sure to boost the chances of success of any activity with a proper time management. This, however, doesn’t necessarily have to mean a complex preparation, and you can just as well set up timers for various events. For instance, MyTimer comes with the right features in this regard, and can also shut down your PC.
Can be used on the go
Just so you can use it as a personal alarm clock, the application doesn’t require installation to function, so you can carry it around on a thumb drive to use on other PCs. Better yet, this also means that registry entries don’t get modified in the process, so you don’t have to worry about the health status or stability of the target PC.
All the application has to offer can be found in a compact window. Classic elements are used in the design, since aesthetics are not the center of attention here. A clock is there to display the exact time, and another configurable timer for your events. Additional options can be found and used to shut down the PC at a specified time, or minimize the application to the tray area.
Good, but far from being a pro
Note, however, that you can only configure one alarm at a time. A pop-up window shows on the desktop and stays on top of everything else so you’re sure to notice it. If selected, the shutdown operation is also triggered when the time comes, so it’s best to save your work, because the operation doesn’t wait for you.
Sadly, the application isn’t really practical to wake you up, or alert you if you’re not in front of the PC, especially since there’s no option to assign an audio file to the alert. A custom message can’t be set either.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that MyTimer is a lightweight tool you can use to configure alerts for upcoming events in the near future. Only one alarm can be configured at a time, and you need to be at the PC, otherwise you risk missing it, with no option to set audio alerts.
