NetMonitor Description

NetMonitor is a freeware Windows tool designed to help users keep an eye on their Internet connections.
The program’s GUI is minimal and that’s the reason why NetMonitor may seem like a very easy to use application at the first glance.
All provided details are grouped in a single window, which can only be good news for beginners, but more advanced users shall be delighted with the rich built-in settings menu.
First of all, NetMonitor shows real-time download and upload information, with a mini-graph to help you track all displayed stats. Furthermore, you can see the transfer rate, but also connection speed and loaded website stats.
A user IP field is also available, and so is a whois utility to quickly get information on any domain name.
The settings menu is the one that should make everything a lot more attractive for advanced users because it comprises plenty of features concerning the proxy support, IP ignore, time synchronization, whois engine and other general options.
Supposed to run most of the time and keep an icon in the Windows System Tray, NetMonitor is very friendly with hardware resources and can be safely installed on both newer and older workstations.
It runs flawlessly on every Windows iteration on the market, without the need for administrator privileges on Windows 7 machines.
All in all, you don’t need to be a computer guru to use NetMonitor and the great amount of information it provides should come in handy to many users out there. Further improvements to the interface and a more user-friendly approach could turn it into a full-featured top product.
