On Line Timer

On Line Timer provides you with a tool that keeps track of your time spent on the Internet in order to make sure you do not exceed the limits imposed by your ISP's subscription. This way, you can make sure you are not billed for extra Internet usage and organize that time more efficiently.
Even though it's not stated in the application or its developer webpage, On Line Timer mostly targets users that connect to Internet using a modem, as LAN Internet tends to give the program a hard time when dealing with entered data within the Settings window.

Several flaws

Even when setting the initial time, the counter does not start at that particular value, but a lower one. Moreover, when calling upon the Settings panel, the time drops a few hours, resulting in sheer perplexity if not upright frustration. Being the only thing that this software app does, it can really be a problem if the same thing happens to everyone regardless of the Internet connection.

Configuration settings

The things you can configure though are, as mentioned above, the `Time on Your Account,` the `Alarm` which allows you to set a minimum amount of time before the program's counter interface turns to red from yellow for notification purposes, the `Economic Period` to use for particular discounts over certain time intervals as well as the `Position.`
This last option is quite adding to the disappointment created around the main problem of the application. You cannot drag the counter to a position of your choice on your screen. This is only done manually by entering the X and Y pixel position. You can also freeze the timer in order to preserve the statistics if connecting to the Internet through a different line.

Bottom line

On Line Timer may work properly on modem connections; however, its faulty performance on Windows 7 as well as XP, the poor GUI and the overall experience would make it harder for any program that also requires registration to be regarded as helpful, let alone a good addition to your software collection.
