Pretty Ping Description
Network administrators have their own ways of knowing whether or not a particular target is alive, unlike the conventional method of simply attempting to land on the specific page. It’s called sending a ping, and this operation can easily be performed with the help of specialized applications like Pretty Ping.
Doesn’t require installation to function
The application doesn’t come packed inside an installer, so you can take it for a spin from the moment download is done. This also means it’s possible to have it stored on a USB flash drive in case you want to use it on other computers. Just ensure that the target PC is equipped with .NET Framework to ensure functionality.
As far as the visual design is concerned, the application stores all of its features in a classic window frame. It shows a large area for storing and saving all target URLs, a dedicated set of ping controls, as well as a log section to display overall activity.
Ping one or more targets at a time
It’s possible to have more targets pinged at a time. However, the application doesn’t allow you to load the list from an existing file, or save the one you create, at least not to an external file. As such, the option to fill up the list of targets is to add them one by one.
You can either send a single ping, or multiple ones, simply by writing the target number of pings in a dedicated field. In addition, you have the option to specify the delay between pings. As mentioned, there’s also a log section, which gets updated in real-time, with each attempt to reach the target URL.
On an ending note
In conclusion, Pretty Ping is a straightforward tool which you can verify the status of one or more websites at a time. Sadly, you can’t load the list from file, but it doesn’t take a lot of time to define the list, unless it needs to be abundant. Controls are easy to handle, and results are displayed in real-time.
