Simnor WAV Player Description
There are an abundance of audio file formats, mainly the result of different encoders used to bundle code into a functioning sound effect. Needless to say that you also need a practical audio player for proper feedback, and if you’re looking for a straightforward tool for your WAV files, Simnor WAV Player might just be it.
Straightforward interface and set of controls
On the bright side of things, the application is portable, so you can choose to deploy it on a thumb drive, since it doesn’t make any changes to system registry entries, thus keeping the health status of the target PC intact. Note, however, that the computer you use it on needs to be equipped with .NET Framework.
The application is as straightforward as it gets, with a simple interface which doesn’t pose any accommodation problems, fitted with intuitive controls, as well as a text tag to show the currently playing file. You need to use the browse dialog in order to load the file of interest, because a drag and drop operation is not supported here.
Can only play WAV files
The name is pretty suggestive, and the only format at your disposal is WAV. More than this, the application can only play one file at a time, and there’s no loop function for continuous playback. The only playback controls you benefit from are play and stop. It could have also used a progress slider to skip through content.
It can thus become quite frustrating to be forced to load every file you need for playback, especially since there’s no playlist slot, at least for temporary storage of audio files of interest. Hotkey commands are not supported, so playback controls are only handled through the interface.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Simnor WAV Player comes with good intentions, but it feels like in early stages of development. It’s only fitted with a few playback controls, and you only get to play one file at a time, considering it’s under the WAV format.
