SoftPerfect Traffic Meter can prove useful to administrators who want to keep a close eye on the network traffic, so as to obtain detailed statistical data on the transmitted packets and generate comprehensive reports. It works with both dial-up and Ethernet adapters.
The application can monitor both incoming and outgoing traffic and record data daily, weekly and mothly. It aims to provide administrators with a way to determine the amount of data transmitted throughout the network and detect unusual data transfers that might betray a connection problem.
SoftPerfect Traffic Meter displays a simple interface with a toolbar that offers one-click access to its most important functions. You can easily add it a set of custom filters, which conveniently narrows down the results, in case you want to monitor a single host or a specific port.
A detailed log of the TCP/IP transmitted data is generated for the IP address or the IP range you specified using filters (you can also exclude certain address ranges). You can instruct the application to capture packets from both the source computer and the destination workstation.
The integrated report generator creates a tabular view of the traffic usage for the current day, week and month. Building a report is easy, since all you have to do is select the designated option in the Reports menu. Data can be easily exported to various formats, such as HTML or Excel files.
To get a clearer overview over the traffic usage, SoftPerfect Traffic Meter enables you to generate graphic charts, which can also be exported as BMP or EMF images.
