SqrSoft Compressor/Limiter Description
Audio quality can easily be enhanced, given the right set of computer software components. These can come in a variety of forms, such as player plugins. It’s also the case with SqrSoft Compressor/Limiter, which provides a set of controls through which to normalize audio input in real time.
Before the normalizer controls can be used, Winamp needs to be installed on the target PC, because SqrSoft Compressor/Limiter is a dedicated plugin. Installation requires little time, and effort, and the plugin can be activated from Winamp’s properties panel under the DSP/Effect plugins section.
Every change in the set of controls affects output audio in real time, making it easy to tell what each slider does. A dedicated function can reset all values to the default configuration, in case sound is altered beyond comprehension, or quality got too messy.
With the configuration panel up, playback can be initiated, not only because it is the only way to put the set of feature to good use, but it also serves as a means of testing out the variety of effects.
Input and output gain sliders determine the additional boost level added over default sound value. Better control of captured audio is adjusted through the threshold slider. Additional controls are used to configure attack, and release time, with a checkbox to keep stereo positioning intact.
