Text Based Calculator Description
Text Based Calculator is a lightweight command-line application you can use to perform standard calculations in a PowerShell environment, namely addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
It takes a step-by-step approach toward the entire process, asking you one question at a time, so previous experience with Command Prompt is not required.
Doesn't require installation
The entire program's wrapped into an .exe file that can be saved to a preferred directory on the computer or copied to a removable storage unit to run Text Based Calculator on any computer directly, without any setup. It doesn't change the Windows registry configuration or generate extra files on the disk. To run a clean uninstall, it's only necessary to delete this executable item.
Enter two numbers to add, subtract, multiply or divide
Once launched by double-clicking the .exe or calling its process from PowerShell, Text Based Calculator shows a list of the four types of operations, asking you to enter a letter corresponding to the operation you're interested in.
In the following step, you can enter the two numbers to add, subtract, multiply or divide, and hit the Enter key to find out the answer instantly. The process is restarted at this point, so you can either perform a new operation or quit to the desktop.
There are no commands integrated for saving all data to file, but it's possible to select and copy strings of characters to the Clipboard by pressing the Enter key. Unfortunately, the tool can work with only two numbers at the same time, so you cannot input more three or more numbers to add, subtract, multiply or divide.
Evaluation and conclusion
All in all, Text Based Calculator is a pretty rudimentary tool for making such basic math calculations, even for a console-based application. However, it's fast and easy to use, ideal for users who want to get familiarized with Command Prompt.
