Transfer Time Calculator

Transfer Time Calculator is a tiny and portable piece of software that can calculate a file's size, network connection speed, along with the downloading time. You can enter any two values to find out the third, and thus find out how long it would take to download a file, what the Internet connection speed would be, or what the file dimension would be. It does not come equipped with any other notable options.

Portability advantages

Since there is no installation involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run. Otherwise, you can save Transfer Time Calculator to a pen drive or other removable storage unit, in order to launch it on any PC effortlessly and without any other installers.
What's more, unlike most installers, this app does not add new entries to the Windows registry or Start menu, so no traces are left behind after removing it.

Simple interface and options

The GUI is represented by small window that shows all available options, so you can immediately start noting the facts you know: network speed (bits or bytes per second), file size (Kb, MB, GB, TB), or download time (in years, days, hours, minutes and seconds).
Results are instantly shown in the main frame. Although Transfer Time Calculator does not implement options for exporting data to file or printing it, you can make a text selection and copy it to the Clipboard. Moreover, you can clear all information to start from scratch, as well as modify the default button.

Evaluation and conclusion

As expected, the software application had minimal impact on system performance in our tests, using low CPU and RAM. It executed calculations rapidly and did not trigger the operating to hang, crash or display error messages. It may not be feature-rich, but it gets the job done without breaking a sweat.
