Alarm Clock Description
Time plays a major role in our day to day activities, both personal and professional. For instance, alarms remind us of upcoming events, with your phone also being able to alert you, and your PC as well. In this regard, Alarm Clock comes as a lightweight utility to help you set different alarms with custom sounds.
Can be used on the go
A neat advantage is that the application doesn’t even need to be installed in order to work, which means you can store it on a USB flash drive to use on other computers as well. Another consequence of portability is that system registries remain intact, thus not having an impact on resources nor stability.
A classic window frame is used to house all features, and several panels for main settings, with different colors for differentiation. The general design is pretty intuitive, and you can easily get the hang of it, regardless of experience.
Set alarms and alert actions
The time management option isn’t difficult at all, with three fields for hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as day format. You can configure up to 5 different alarms and keep them active at a time, but there’s no possibility to create more slots.
When the time comes, a popup window is brought up, with the possibility to snooze, close, or quit the program. During countdown, Alarm Clock stays hidden in the system tray. However, there’s more to be done than just being informed of an event.
A particular drop-down menu lets you choose from options to play sound, open a file, run a program, shut down or restart the PC, and display a message. However, you can set only one activity per alarm, but there are five slots you can use in this regard.
To sum it up
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Alarm Clock is a lightweight, but practical application that, in spite of the rough visuals, is capable of a bit more than just remind you of a certain activity. What makes it stand out from the crowd are the multiple actions that can be set on alerts, and deserves a try overall.
